Atlas Star is the result of 142 hours of continuous, detailed craftsmanship, from initial geometric design to final surface finishing. The piece is built around a spiral pattern, a form found throughout nature—from galaxy formations to floral patterns and seashell structures. This spiral symbolizes motion, growth, and continuity, reflecting the essence of marquetry itself: a journey from parts to the whole, from points to the universe.

During construction, each wood piece is carefully inspected for moisture, density, and grain health to ensure perfect harmony when combined. Walnut is chosen as the base for its stability over time and resistance to humidity, while the marquetry woods—including Maple, Kikam, Tulip, Rosewood Padauk, Willow, Zersh, Pistachio, and Ebony-patterned Walnut—are selected and arranged for color, grain direction, and visual contrast, creating depth and a sense of motion.

Every piece is cut with a delicate marquetry saw, edges filed with millimeter precision, and meticulously positioned to ensure seamless, flawless connections, resulting in a perfectly unified surface.

The final multi-step natural oil finish not only revitalizes the wood’s natural colors and grain but also protects the surface from moisture and wear, making the tray suitable for long-term use as a serving piece or decorative wall element.
