Romance was inspired by a simple truth: no lasting relationship exists without effort, patience, and collaboration. The concept of this piece reflects how two independent paths can meet through choice and cooperation to create something entirely new. The intersecting lines and flowing curves symbolize this gradual, authentic movement—much like human relationships, it is not rigid or harsh but shaped by flexibility, time, and harmony.
The process began with selecting the perfect materials. The base wood was chosen for strength, balanced weight, and surface quality. Its medium-dark texture provides controlled contrast with the marquetry pieces, naturally guiding the eye toward the central design.
Next, the marquetry woods were selected not just for visual beauty but for color function and emotional expression. The color palette moves from soft, light tones to deeper, richer shades, creating depth and storytelling.
Millimeter-level precision in cutting each piece was essential to avoid unwanted gaps. In marquetry, even a tenth of a millimeter can disrupt the visual flow. Every section was adjusted and trial-assembled multiple times to ensure perfect, seamless connections.
The final oil finish allows the wood to breathe while maintaining its natural beauty over time. This finish not only enhances the texture but also protects against moisture and temperature changes.
