What sets Asman apart is not just its beautiful design, but the careful structure of color and depth. Every piece of wood was selected based on its light reflection, creating a feeling of distance, height, and vastness, just like gazing at the open sky.
The walnut base represents the darkest part of the night sky, allowing lighter woods like maple, poplar, and tulip to shine like stars. Darker woods, such as processed ebony and khat, were used to create shadows and depth, guiding the viewer’s gaze along paths of light and darkness, evoking movement and infinity.
During production, the initial design was refined multiple times to ensure that lines and curves flow visually and feel seamless to the touch. Each piece is cut with a fine marquetry saw to millimeter precision, then sanded for hours so that each segment fits perfectly with the next. This meticulous craftsmanship ensures strength and surface integrity.
The final oil finish reveals the natural wood grain while protecting the piece from moisture and everyday scratches. For this reason, Asman is not just a decorative object—it is a durable and functional tray for serving and display.
