In the creation of an artwork, there is always a point where technique transcends skill and becomes memory. Golestan embodies this intersection—where raw wood, guided by the hands of the artisan, transforms into a vision of renewed life.
For this piece, authentic Iranian walnut was chosen as the base—valued for its strength, consistent grain, and rich color, long regarded as one of the finest materials in woodworking. Yet the heart of Golestan lies within its marquetry: millimeter-precise pieces of rose, zersh, orange, kikum, purple, and eucalyptus are arranged together to recreate the image of an Iranian garden.
Golestan stands apart through its visual rhythm and harmony: the careful sequencing of colors and wood grains guides the viewer’s eye from the darkest shades to the lightest—like walking through a garden from shadow to sunlight.
This color and structural harmony is completed over a hundred hours of focused work, including multiple stages of sanding, polishing, and protective finishing, resulting in a durable, smooth, and lustrous surface suitable for everyday use and long-term enjoyment.
Turned handles enhance grip and control, while the balanced weight of 1,600 g reflects the strength and authenticity of natural wood—not a lightweight, impersonal product.
